Join us as we partner with ISU Extension for this this in-field and hands-on Windbreak School offering. Learn how to plan, establish, and maintain highly-functional, multipurpose windbreaks, and watch as we demonstrate a windbreak establishment using the Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm as a case study. We'll be planting trees for the windbreak with a pollinator prairie border!

Celebrate Extension Week in Humboldt County! Join us for Pollinator Monday where we'll have a live bee colony, native seeds, insect displays, snacks, and a fun butterfly craft. This will be a great afternoon event for anyone enjoying the day off from school!

Join us in March at Reiman Gardens' Day of Insects! This fun event covers a broad range of insect and arthropod discussions from pollinators and native plants to tarantulas and fireflies. We have multiple people from the IMCC presenting, so make sure to reserve your ticket, and we'll see you there!

Join the IMCC and ISU Extension in Calhoun County for a morning of pollinator discussion! Hear from experts on pocket prairie establishment, butterfly gardening, and the history of Iowa gardens. There will also be a fun activity at the end!

The IMCC will be attending the 2026 Spring IAN Workshop this year! The IAN Workshop is hosted by the Iowa Association of Naturalists and is a conference for County Conservation Board naturalist employees. This will be a great networking event with lots of talks on wildlife and pollinators! If you're planning on coming, make sure to visit our table and say hi!

This year, the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium is teaming up with Read Across Iowa for their 2026 Pollinators to Product event! All month long, teachers and parents can download pollinator-themed content to explore the world of pollinators and agriculture. The IMCC will be sharing a video later in the month covering the lifecycle of butterflies with a fun, interactive craft!

The IMCC will be attending Winterfest again this year! Winterfest is hosted by the Iowa County Conservation System and is a conference for County Conservation Board employees and college students! This is a great event to build networking skills and learn about conservation efforts across Iowa. If you're planning on coming, make sure to stop by our table and say hi!

Come visit us at the upcoming Iowa Prairie Network winter seminar! The theme for this year is Passing the Drip Torch - 250 Years of Prairie Resilience. There will be lots of interesting speakers and a silent auction. Hope to see you there!

Planting Pollinator Habitat for Monarchs

In this workshop, we'll discuss monarch and pollinator conservation in Iowa and how to design pollinator gardens for monarchs. If there's enough time at the end, we'll begin designing our own pollinator gardens.
