Tour of Andy Joseph’s Apiary/Potluck
Andy Joseph will give a tour of one of his apiaries. He will show how he keeps bees and demonstrate his equipment and methods. Bring appropriate bee protection as Andy will be opening hives and answering any questions. Info for every level and a “hands-on” demo!
This is a family friendly meeting, and everyone is invited. If you do not wish to attend the apiary tour the Longhouse will be open. Abigail Kelly, Central Iowa Beekeepers Association (CIBA) Queen will lead honey bee inspired activities for youngsters or anyone staying back who wishes to participate.
A potluck dinner will follow the apiary tour (starting about 12:30-1:00). A short CIBA meeting will follow. There will be an extraction demonstration for anyone interested after the CIBA meeting.
In the event of bad weather, we will move the extraction demonstration to the morning, so come regardless of the weather.
