Workshop to Explore Benefits of Pollinator Habitat
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is partnering to host a pollinator habitat workshop. Randall Cass, entomologist with ISU Extension and Outreach, will be the event’s primary presenter and will discuss the benefits of prairie to native bees and pollinators. Attendees also will have an opportunity to learn more about guidelines for seeding establishments, tree and shrub benefits to pollinators, cost share opportunities and partner organizations in improving prairie habitat.
In addition, the workshop will include a tour of three established pollinator plantings in Des Moines County. Bus transportation to the plantings will be provided for the first 30 participants.
Space is limited, so please RSVP by July 20 to 319-753-6221 (Ext 3) or by email to jamie.stewart@ia.nacdnet.net.
