Come learn about location options, plant selection and potential challenges to adding monarch butterfly habitat on your farm. Seth Appelgate from the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium will share his knowledge and experience planning and executing planting of 21 monarch habitat patches on agricultural sites across Iowa. Now Appelgate, along with the rest of the Iowa State Monarch Research team, is collecting data on establishment success and monarch utilization, and you can hear about recent progress.
