Iowa Learning Farms will hold a free, public field day to share information about monarch butterflies and wetlands. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Wildlife Specialist Adam Janke will lead a discussion on the role of wetlands on the landscape for wildlife and migratory creatures, including waterfowl and monarch butterflies.Seth Appelgate from the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium will share details about current research projects and opportunities to establish monarch habitat. A complimentary meal is included. The field day is in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Pathfinders RC and D, and Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium.
